Dengue report reader: NS1, IgM, IgG and platelets explained in plain language
Dengue reports combine NS1 antigen, IgM and IgG antibodies with a CBC (platelets, white cells, haematocrit). Upload yours and MedDroid explains each value and which are outside the range.
In the MedDroid assistant, tap + → Read a report or scan, then use your camera or upload a photo or PDF.
How it works
- STEP 1
Upload a photo or PDF
Take a photo of your report or upload the lab's PDF. Several pages? Add up to 4 files at once.
- STEP 2
MedDroid reads the values
Every test is read top to bottom with its value, unit and the lab's normal range, and the ones outside the range are marked.
- STEP 3
Get it in plain language
A short explanation in everyday words, whether anything looks serious, and what to do next, including what to ask your doctor.
What you get
Dengue panel + CBC (example)
Illustrative example with made-up values, not a real patient. Your own report is read the same way.
Needs attention
| Dengue NS1 antigen | Positive ● Flagged | Range Negative |
| Platelet count | 92,000 /µL ▼ Low | Range 1.5 – 4.5 lakh |
| WBC count | 3,200 /µL ▼ Low | Range 4,000 – 11,000 |
✓ 9 other values in the normal range
In simple words
NS1 is positive, which points to a current dengue infection. Platelets and white cells are low, which is common in dengue.
Is it serious?
Dengue needs a doctor's follow-up. Warning signs (below) need hospital care straight away.
What to do next
- See your doctor today and ask how often to repeat the platelet count
- Drink fluids and avoid painkillers like ibuprofen unless your doctor says so
Dengue warning signs: severe belly pain, repeated vomiting, bleeding gums or nose, black stools, blood in vomit, sudden drowsiness or restlessness, cold clammy skin. Go to a hospital now or call your local emergency number (108 or 112 in India).
Values it explains
Also haematocrit (PCV), haemoglobin and liver enzymes (SGPT / SGOT), which doctors often check in dengue.
Your report, your choice. You can read a report without an account. If you are signed in, MedDroid asks before adding it to your health records, and nothing is saved there without your yes. Privacy policy
Not a diagnosis — always discuss results with your doctor. MedDroid is an AI assistant and can make mistakes. It explains reports in general terms and does not replace your doctor or laboratory. If you feel very unwell, call your local emergency number (108 or 112 in India).
Frequently asked questions
What does NS1 positive mean?
NS1 is a dengue virus protein that shows up early, usually in the first days of fever. A positive NS1 suggests a current dengue infection; your doctor confirms it with your symptoms.
At what platelet count is dengue dangerous?
There is no single safe number: doctors watch the trend, haematocrit and warning signs, not the platelet count alone. Any bleeding or warning sign needs hospital care at once.
Is the lab report reader really free?
Yes. The free Community Edition includes 1 report read a day, whether or not you have an account. Paid plans allow more (fair use of up to 5 report reads a day).
Can I send my report on WhatsApp instead?
Yes. Send the photo (JPG, PNG or WebP) or PDF, up to 10 MB, to MedDroid on WhatsApp at +91 99941 19579. The same free daily limit applies.
Is this a diagnosis?
No. MedDroid explains what the values on your report mean in general, so you can understand them and prepare questions. Only your doctor can interpret the results with your symptoms and history.
