What you get
Liver function test (example)
Illustrative example with made-up values, not a real patient. Your own report is read the same way.
Needs attention
| SGPT / ALT | 68 U/L ▲ High | Range 7 – 56 |
| SGOT / AST | 44 U/L ▲ High | Range 10 – 40 |
✓ 8 other values in the normal range
In simple words
Two liver enzymes (ALT and AST) are mildly raised. Bilirubin and albumin are inside the range.
Is it serious?
Mild enzyme rises are common and have many causes, such as fatty liver, alcohol or some medicines. Usually not urgent.
What to do next
- Ask your doctor whether to repeat the LFT
- Tell them about alcohol, medicines and supplements you take
Values it explains
Also SGPT / ALT, SGOT / AST, alkaline phosphatase (ALP), GGT, total protein, globulin and the A/G ratio.

Not a diagnosis — always discuss results with your doctor. MedDroid is an AI assistant and can make mistakes. It explains reports in general terms and does not replace your doctor or laboratory. If you feel very unwell, call your local emergency number (108 or 112 in India).
Frequently asked questions
What does high SGPT (ALT) mean?
ALT is an enzyme found mainly in the liver. A raised value means liver cells may be irritated, which has many possible causes. Your doctor decides whether it needs more tests.
When is a liver report urgent?
Go to a doctor promptly if you have yellow eyes or skin, dark urine, severe belly pain, vomiting blood or confusion. In an emergency, call your local emergency number (108 or 112 in India).
Is the lab report reader really free?
Yes. The free Community Edition includes 1 report read a day, whether or not you have an account. Paid plans allow more (fair use of up to 5 report reads a day).
Which files can I upload?
A photo of the report (camera or gallery) or a PDF from the lab, up to 4 files at a time, and every page is read. Word, Excel and text files also work: they are turned into a PDF on your device first.
Is this a diagnosis?
No. MedDroid explains what the values on your report mean in general, so you can understand them and prepare questions. Only your doctor can interpret the results with your symptoms and history.
