Doctor practice growth calculator
Free · runs in your browser · no sign-upHow many patients can your OPD hold, how full is it, and what would change if fewer patients missed appointments, more came back for follow-ups, or you added a few teleconsult slots? Every number here comes from what you type. The formulas are shown under the result.

Track the real numbers in MedDroid
Estimates are a start; your own data is better. MedDroid Practice Insights shows footfall, revenue, repeat visits and no-shows from your records. Patient Recall lists who is due for a follow-up, TeleConnect adds bookable video slots with a waiting list, and the OPD Queue keeps walk-ins moving.
How to read the result
Capacity is how many consults fit in your OPD hours at your consult length. Utilisation is how many of those are actually used by patients who turn up. Above about 90% the OPD usually runs late; well below 60% you have room for more patients, longer consults for complex cases or shorter hours.
Each scenario changes one thing and keeps everything else the same. The combined line adds them, capped at your OPD capacity.
Where the levers come from
- No-shows: reminders the day before and a waiting list that offers freed slots to others.
- Follow-ups: a recall list from every visit, so patients advised to return are actually called.
- Teleconsults: a few video slots for reviews and report discussions, booked like clinic slots.
We do not promise any percentage. Put in the targets you think are realistic for your patients, and compare after three months with your real numbers.
Good practice
- Measure no-shows for two weeks before you change anything.
- Change one thing at a time so you know what worked.
- Do not shorten consults to fit more patients in; fix no-shows and follow-ups first.
- Teleconsults must follow the Telemedicine Practice Guidelines 2020 (identity, consent, records, e-prescription limits).

Questions
How is OPD capacity calculated?
Capacity per day = OPD hours × 60 ÷ minutes per consult, rounded down. Monthly figures use OPD days per week × 52 ÷ 12 working days a month.
Does MedDroid promise these increases?
No. Every scenario uses the targets you type in. They are estimates from your own numbers, not a promise or a measured result.
What counts as a no-show?
A booked patient who does not turn up and does not cancel in time. Enter 0% if you only see walk-ins.
Is my data saved?
No. The calculator runs in your browser and nothing is sent or stored.
